Tips On Pain Management

Do you want relief from consistent, aggravating, searing pain?

Pain is indicative of something wrong.  The most common complaint is back pain. More than 200 million Americans suffer back pain according to statistics. Back pain can be caused by a number of things. Lower back pain can be caused by years of improper body mechanics such as heavy lifting without the correct body posture, and equipment, such as a back brace. Back pain can also be caused by obesity, slipped disc, sciatica, injuries, trauma and disease to name a few. When pain is chronic it is difficult to achieve simple daily activities and mobility. whether it is mild or severe. Pain is measured on a scale of 1-10. A pain level of five to six is considered tolerable. After level six, pain is usually considered intolerable.
Do not wait until pain becomes intense before taking pain medication. pain is better controlled if pain medication is taken before the onset of pain. Other measures to relieve back pain include, aligning the back with stretch exercises. While some pain medications do not have the same effect on some people, some pain medications  will reduce or eliminate pain for some, while others may not have any effect at all.
A doctor that specializes in pain management is the first step toward diagnosis, treatment and pain medication regimen that will work best for you to help control pain. Wen you are aware of the cause, effect, only then can you take action to eliminate the cause, When you are aware of the cause, you can move to acceptance. In turn acceptance moves you to act. This is a step toward a better quality of life, pain free.

According to statistics the mass of people in the universe will suffer some degree of back pain. some people have pain, but never sustained an injury. Others may experience pain from feet conditions, such as swelling, heel pain, burning soles(this can be complications of diabetes, and circulation problems), battered ligaments, sports injuries, car accidents, inappropriate bending and lifting can be related to back pain. Various medical conditions can cause back pain, including multiple scleroses, and edema (fluid retention).

Pain medication should be taken on a regular schedule for chronic pain and as needed for acute pain. Take pain medication at the onset of pain, before it becomes intense and before an activity that may induce pain to help minimize pain.  Caregivers should observe patient for over sedation or inadequate pain relief. observe patient closely for body language signs of pain, and offer pain medication. Signs of pain include, clenched fist, restlessness, sweating, facial paleness or flushing, altered mood or behavior and crying.  Other measures to alleviate pain in addition  to pain medication include pillows to support painful areas, regular rest periods, diversional activities, soft music and a restful environment.
